One Good Thing About America has been chosen by the New England Children’s Booksellers Advisory Council (NECBA) for their Windows and Mirrors list. These are the 2017 books that best exemplify diverse viewpoints, experiences, and identities. Thanks, NECBA!

And another list: the New York Public Library put my book on their New & Noteworthy: Culturally Diverse Middle Grade book blog this summer. You can see it here. Thanks, NYPL!

Lists such as these help get my book and others like it into the hands of more readers. And that was my hope for the book: I wanted my students, and others like them, to see themselves in a book. I also wanted to provide other readers with a glimpse of what it is like to be a newcomer in this country.
